Popeye first came on the scene on January 17^th 1929 in a comic strip called Thimble Theater and the progressed through comic strips, cartoons and movies. He was known for eating his spinach to gain strength, rescuing Olive Oyl, and taking care of the bully Bluto.

Popeye grew into a legend which continues on today.
